What is the Communication Interface of HLK-LD2410C?

The HLK-LD2410C employs a TTL serial communication interface, enabling the transmission of data output and the execution of parameter configuration commands. This interface allows users to configure the module with flexibility and obtain real-time data concerning target detection. The module is set to a default baud rate of 256000, which includes one stop bit and does not incorporate a parity bit.

Pin Definition of the HLK-LD2410C Module

The HLK-LD2410C includes the following pins:
  • UART_Tx: Serial transmission pin
  • UART_Rx: Serial reception pin
  • OUT: Target status output pin, outputs a high level when detecting human presence and a low level when no human is detected
  • GND: Power ground
  • VCC: Power input pin, voltage is 5V.

How to Use and Configure the HLK-LD2410C

The HLK-LD2410C module can be configured with great flexibility through serial commands to accommodate a variety of application requirements. Users have the ability to adjust parameters such as detection distance and sensitivity, thereby customizing the module's sensing capabilities. This device operates at a voltage of 5V and necessitates a power supply exceeding 200mA. The IO output level is set at 3.3V, and the default baud rate is specified as 256000, accompanied by one stop bit and no parity bit.

Usage and Configuration

  1. Typical Application Circuit: The LD2410C module provides a direct output of target status through an IO pin, indicating high levels of human presence and low levels of the absence of human presence. Furthermore, it is capable of transmitting detection result data via the serial port in accordance with the established protocol. The serial data encompasses target status and supplementary distance information, which can be utilized adaptively depending on the specific application context.
  • Power Supply Requirements: The module requires a 5V power supply with a capacity greater than 200mA.
  • IO Output Level: 3.3V
  • Default Serial Settings: Baud rate of 256000, 1 stop bit, no parity bit.
  1. Role of Configuration Parameters: Users are able to modify the configuration parameters of the LD2410C module via the serial interface, thereby enabling adaptation to various application requirements. The configurable radar detection parameters include:
  • Maximum Detection Distance: Users have the capability to establish the maximum detectable distance, whereby only human subjects within this specified range will be identified and reported. The configuration employs distance gates, accommodating up to eight gates, and the distance resolution can be adjusted to either 0.2 meters or 0.75 meters.
  • Sensitivity: The sensitivity is adjustable within a range of 0 to 100. The radar system will identify a target when its energy value surpasses the established sensitivity level. Each distance gate may be independently configured for sensitivity, thereby enabling precise detection and the filtration of interference in designated areas.
  • No-One Duration: This parameter defines the duration for which the radar continues to indicate the presence of a human after initial detection. If the radar system identifies the absence of an individual for the specified time period, it will subsequently report "no one present". Should an individual re-enter the monitored area during this interval, the timer will be reset accordingly.

Visual Configuration Tool Description

To facilitate fast and efficient testing and configuration, the HLK-LD2410C provides a PC-based visual configuration tool. Users can use this tool to connect to the module's serial port, read and configure parameters, and receive real-time detection results. This tool greatly enhances user convenience.

How to Use the Visual Configuration Tool:
  1. Connect the module to a USB-to-serial converter.
  2. In the configuration tool, select the correct serial port and set the baud rate to 256000, then click "Connect".
  3. Once connected, click "Start" to display the detection results and data in the right graphical interface.
  4. Before clicking "Start" or after stopping the process, you can read or configure other parameters.

How Does the Radar Command Configuration Method Work?

To achieve efficient and flexible configuration, the HLK-LD2410C module uses command-based configuration. The configuration process includes two stages: "Send Command" and "Return Command ACK". If the command does not receive an ACK response, it will be resent until successful.

Radar Command Configuration Steps

  1. Send the "Enable Configuration Command" to start the configuration process.
  2. Wait for ACK's success. If unsuccessful, resend the command.
  3. Once ACK is successful, send the desired configuration commands.
  4. Finally, send the "End Configuration Command" to complete the configuration
