NE555+CD4017 Flowing Light Electronic DIY Kit with battery pack

This kit mainly consists of a clock generator circuit and a 10-stage counter circuit.

The NE555 functions as an astable multivibrator, where the voltage passes through R2, R1, and VR1 to charge C2. When C2 starts charging, pin 2 of U1 is still at a low level. Once C2's voltage reaches 2/3 of the power supply voltage, the output at pin 3 of U1 changes from low to high. When the voltage on C2 drops below 1/3 of the power supply voltage, the output on pin 3 switches back to a low level, repeating the cycle to generate oscillation.

The frequency of oscillation output can be adjusted by VR1. U1 generates continuous clock signals, which are applied to pin 14 of U2. U2 counts the clock signals, and when Q10 sends a high pulse, the cycle repeats, lighting up D1 to D10 in sequence, creating the flowing water effect.

Adjusting VR1 allows control over the speed of the LED flow effect.
