A battery-powered Seeed Studio SenseCAP S2100 wireless data logger/ DTU supports RS485/Analog/GPIO sensors, equipped with built-in Bluetooth and APP service for OTA configuration and remote device management, fully compatible with LoRaWAN® networks.

To ensure that the performance and durability of the SenseCAP S2100 sensors are consistent with their specifications throughout the complete lifecycle, Seeed Studio SenseCAP devices went through 6 reliability tests before releasing and met the requirements to perform perfectly in extreme conditions.

The frequency plan setting is none by default and the Seeed Studio SenseCAP S2100 LoRaWAN® device will not transmit RF signal until it has been set by App via Bluetooth at the first power-up. And it can be changed to other LoRaWAN® frequency plans at any time.
Power Source Option for SenseCAP S2100
Option 1: The SenseCAP S2100 LoRaWAN® data logger/DTU can work in Periodic mode. Powered by a built-in 19Ah Standard D-size Li-SOCl2 battery which is easy to buy online, it can be installed and deployed in an outdoor environment without additional power.
Option 2: The Seeed Studio SenseCAP S2100 LoRaWAN® data logger/DTU can work in Constant Power mode with an external 12V DC power supply. We provide a matching Junction Box Kit so that the S2100 can be quickly assembled.
Note: If you want to use S2100 SenseCAP LoRaWAN® with Weather Sensors, please note the Junction Box Kit is necessary.

Hardware Overview of Seeed Studio SenseCAP S2100
SenseCAP S2100 LoRaWAN® Data Logger/DTU can connect to MODBUS-RTU RS485/Analog/GPIO sensors and transmit data from sensors to the LoRaWAN® network. Benefits from LoRa and IP66 design, this Seeed Studio SenseCAP S2100 features stability and reliability and can cover a long transmission range while keeping ultra-low power consumption, ideal for outdoor use. It is specifically optimized for OTA with built-in Bluetooth, which enables quick setup and update. It can be battery-powered or connected to a 12V external power supply. When the 12V power supply is connected, the replaceable built-in battery is set to be used as the backup power supply. What's more, with the help of S2110 converter, S2100 LoRaWAN® Data Logger is able to connect to Grove Sensor, it is an ideal solution for developing, fast prototyping, and small deployment for DIY Industrial level LoRaWAN® Sensors.
S2100 LoRaWAN® Data Logger/DTU supports MODBUS-RTU RS485/Analog/GPIO input and transmits the data from sensors to the LoRaWAN® network.
The Seeed Studio SenseCAP S2100 LoRaWAN® device can cover a transmission range of 2km in urban scenes and 10km in line-of-sight scenes while keeping lower power consumption during the transmission process. Together with a replaceable battery that supports up to 10 years of usage and an industrial IP66 enclosure, the S2100 is designed for durability. It supports -40 ~ 85℃ operating temperature and can be deployed in harsh environments, making it a reliable LoRaWAN® SenseCAP solution for industrial IoT.
Application of Seeed Studio SenseCAP S2100 LoRaWAN®

SenseCAP S2100 is compatible with LoRaWAN® V1.0.3 protocol and can work with Gateway - LoRaWAN Device - SenseCAP.
LoRaWAN® gateways provide LoRaWAN® network coverage which is required when using such sensors. S2100 can be connected to different LoRaWAN® gateways while what Seeed Studio SenseCAP provides offers you a seamless user experience.
Helium Network: S2100 LoRaWAN® sensors work in areas covered by Helium Network (Check on Helium Explorer). You can check the SenseCAP M1 LoRaWAN Indoor Gateway - US915 - Seeed Studio and SenseCAP M2 Light Hotspot and Software License - Seeed Studio.
LoRaWAN® Network: Sensors work in LoRaWAN® networks, like The Things Network, Loriot, Chirpstack, etc. You can check the SenseCAP Gateway - LoRaWAN EU915 - Seeed Studio and the SenseCAP-Multi-Platform-LoRaWAN-Indoor-Gateway-SX1302-US915-p-5472 - Seeed Studio.

- Pre-order Fulfillment: For "Pre-order" items, we arrange the most efficient logistics solution to ensure you receive your goods as quickly as possible. Your package may be shipped directly from our Shenzhen warehouse. Alternatively, as part of our standard restocking process, we may transport the goods to our Munich or Long Beach warehouse first (typically taking 5-10 business days) before dispatching them to you.
- Split Shipments: If your order contains both in-stock and Pre-order items, we will prioritize shipping the in-stock items from the local warehouse immediately. The remaining Pre-order items will be sent to you in a separate shipment once they are ready.
3. International Warehouse
Our products are stored in our Munich, Long Beach, and Shenzhen warehouses to provide more flexible logistics solutions tailored to different regions and customer needs. On each product's description page, we indicate the specific warehouse location to help you better plan your purchase and delivery schedule.
3.1 German Warehouse
For products stored in our warehouse in Munich, we use either Deutsche Post or DHL for shipping, depending on the size of the package. Logistics within Germany are very efficient, with an estimated delivery time of 2-4 business days, ensuring you receive your order quickly and conveniently. For Western EU countries, the estimated delivery time is 4-6 business days. For Eastern EU countries, the estimated delivery time is 6-8 business days.
3.2 US Warehouse
For products stored in our warehouse in Long Beach, we use either USPS or UPS for shipping, depending on the size of the package. Logistics within U.S. are very efficient, with an estimated delivery time of 3-7 business days, ensuring you receive your order quickly and conveniently.
3.3 Chinese Warehouse
For Pre-order items or orders fulfilled directly from our Shenzhen warehouse, we utilize YunExpress for reliable international shipping. Given the complexities of international shipping, the estimated delivery time for these packages is around 10 business days, though this may vary slightly due to customs processes or other uncontrollable factors. Otherwise, products will be restocked to our Munich or US warehouses before final delivery, as detailed in the "Important Notice" above.
4. Customs and Taxes
4.1 How are customs handled by OpenELAB for import or export?
For EU Member States: Whether shipped from Germany or China, we cover all import duties and taxes (DDP), ensuring that you receive your package without any additional costs or hassle with customs.
For countries outside of the European Union, such as Switzerland and Norway, you may be subject to import duties, taxes, and/or customs fees charged upon delivery. These fees vary from country to country and are the sole responsibility of the recipient.
⚠️ Refusal of Delivery: If you refuse to pay these fees upon delivery and the package is returned to us, the refund amount will be calculated after deducting the original shipping costs, return shipping costs, and any applicable customs or storage fees.
4.2 How is VAT charged when the Customer places an order from OpenELAB?
In accordance with the newest VAT e-commerce rules in the EU, OpenELAB shall have the right to charge the amount of VAT at checkout. The standard rate of actual VAT applied is subject to the destination country's regulations. No additional VAT will be charged upon delivery for these orders.
