HELTEC Vision Master E213 (HT-VME213) is a compact and versatile E-Ink development kit based on the ESP32-S3 microcontroller, designed for low-power wireless display applications. Equipped with a default 2.13-inch black-and-white E-Ink screen, the Vision Master E213 offers ultra-low power consumption and can retain display content for up to 180 days without power, making it ideal for battery-powered or energy-constrained environments. The board is fully compatible with popular development frameworks such as Arduino, PlatformIO, and MicroPython, allowing developers to quickly prototype and deploy applications like electronic shelf labels, identity tags, and status indicators.

Its onboard SH2.0-4P connector supports direct connection to QuickLink series sensors, enabling rapid integration of peripherals such as temperature, humidity, motion, or environmental sensors without additional wiring or soldering.

Plastic support plate

HELTEC Vision Master E213 features a transparent plastic support platform installed between the PCB and the E-Ink display, designed to provide both mechanical protection and thermal optimization. This structural layer safeguards sensitive electronic components from physical stress during handling or installation, while also enhancing heat dissipation across the board.

By improving airflow and reducing thermal buildup, the support platform contributes to the overall stability and longevity of the device—especially in continuous display or outdoor deployment scenarios. FAQ

Can the onboard 2.4GHz antenna be replaced?

The onboard 2.4GHz antenna is a fixed spring-type antenna. The board does not include an IPEX or SMA connector for external 2.4GHz signals, so replacement or extension is not supported by default.

The board uses a standard SH1.25 x 2 battery connector. You can find compatible lithium battery packs by searching “SH1.25 x 2” online or in electronics stores.

  1. Please reinsert your USB cable, or try another cable that supports data transmission.

  2. Open your DEVICE MANAGER, select the port, and if prompted, install the required driver: 👉 CP210X driver

  3. Try another computer or a different operating system to rule out host-side issues.

  1. Open DEVICE MANAGER and check if the device port appears. If not, refer to the previous topic “I can’t find serial port”.

  2. Ensure the serial port is not occupied by another application.

  3. Enter BootLoader mode using one of the following methods:

    • Connect the USB cable, hold down the User (or ORG or Boot) key, press RST once, then release the User key.

    • Hold down the User (or ORG or Boot) key, then connect the USB cable.

To start the board manually: press and hold the Boot key, press RST once, then release the Boot key. The board includes 21 user-configurable buttons that can be mapped for custom functions or UI control.

3. International Warehouse

Our products are stored in our Munich, Long Beach, and Shenzhen warehouses to provide more flexible logistics solutions tailored to different regions and customer needs. 3.1 German Warehouse

For products stored in our warehouse in Munich, we use either Deutsche Post or DHL for shipping, depending on the size of the package. Logistics within Germany are very efficient, with an estimated delivery time of 2-4 business days, ensuring you receive your order quickly and conveniently. For Western EU countries, the estimated delivery time is 4-6 business days. For Eastern EU countries, the estimated delivery time is 6-8 business days.

3.2 US Warehouse

For products stored in our warehouse in Long Beach, we use either USPS or UPS for shipping, depending on the size of the package. Logistics within U.S. are very efficient, with an estimated delivery time of 3-7 business days, ensuring you receive your order quickly and conveniently.

3.3 Chinese Warehouse

For Pre-order items or orders fulfilled directly from our Shenzhen warehouse, we utilize YunExpress for reliable international shipping. Given the complexities of international shipping, the estimated delivery time for these packages is around 10 business days, though this may vary slightly due to customs processes or other uncontrollable factors. Otherwise, products will be restocked to our Munich or US warehouses before final delivery, as detailed in the "Important Notice" above.

4. Customs and Taxes

4.1 How are customs handled by OpenELAB for import or export?

For EU Member States: Whether shipped from Germany or China, we cover all import duties and taxes (DDP), ensuring that you receive your package without any additional costs or hassle with customs.

Important Exception for Non-EU Countries (e.g., Switzerland, Norway):
For countries outside of the European Union, such as Switzerland and Norway, you may be subject to import duties, taxes, and/or customs fees charged upon delivery. These fees vary from country to country and are the sole responsibility of the recipient.

⚠️ Refusal of Delivery: If you refuse to pay these fees upon delivery and the package is returned to us, the refund amount will be calculated after deducting the original shipping costs, return shipping costs, and any applicable customs or storage fees.

4.2 How is VAT charged when the Customer places an order from OpenELAB?

In accordance with the newest VAT e-commerce rules in the EU, OpenELAB shall have the right to charge the amount of VAT at checkout. The standard rate of actual VAT applied is subject to the destination country's regulations. No additional VAT will be charged upon delivery for these orders.
