In public places like hotels, buildings, and other locations, fire alarms are installed to detect fires. How do these alarms sense a fire? It is widely known that when a fire breaks out, it emits a strong infrared (IR) signal. Fire detection devices can sense fire through these infrared signals.
A flame sensor is specifically designed to detect fire sources, commonly used in robotics for this purpose. Although flame sensors can also detect light brightness, they are particularly sensitive to flames. Flame sensors utilize the high sensitivity of infrared to fire by using specially designed infrared receiving tubes to detect flames. These sensors then convert the brightness of the flame into varying electrical signals, which are input into a central processor. The central processor processes these signals and triggers appropriate responses based on the signal variations.
