Guarantee & Return Policy

At OpenELAB, we are committed to providing accurate product descriptions and high-quality electronics. The following policy outlines your rights and obligations, designed to be fair to both our customers and our business operations globally.

1. Warranty Policy

A. Standard Limited Warranty (Global & US)

For customers in the United States, Asia, and other non-EU regions:

  • Warranty Period: OpenELAB provides a 12-month warranty from the date of delivery.

  • Coverage: This warranty covers defects in material and workmanship under normal use.

  • Resolution: We will repair or replace defective units at no charge.

B. Statutory Rights for EU/UK Customers (EU Compliance)

If you are a consumer residing in the European Union or the UK purchasing from our global site:

  • Statutory Guarantee: You are entitled to a 24-month statutory guarantee for conformity defects present at the time of delivery, in accordance with EU consumer protection laws.

  • Relation: The Standard Limited Warranty (Section 1.A) applies in addition to, and does not replace, your statutory rights.

C. Warranty Exclusions (Applies to ALL Regions)

Warranty coverage is VOID if the damage is caused by:

  1. Misuse: Incorrect installation, reverse polarity, or exceeding voltage limits.

  2. Unauthorized Modification: This explicitly includes soldering, cutting pins, modifying the PCB, or flashing unauthorized/beta firmware that "bricks" the device.

  3. Physical Damage: Drops, moisture/water damage, or electrical surges (lightning).

  4. Normal Wear & Tear: Consumable parts (e.g., batteries), unless defective upon arrival.

Note: For non-warranty repairs (e.g., customer-induced damage), we may offer repair services for a fee. Shipping and diagnostic costs will be borne by the customer.

2. Return & Refund Policy

A. Return Window

  • Standard: You may request a return within 31 days of receiving your order.

B. Refund Conditions & Restocking Fees

To protect against policy abuse, the refund amount is strictly determined by the condition of the returned item.

1. Full Refund (100%)

  • The item is Brand New, Unopened, and Unused.

  • The original packaging is intact and sealed.

  • All accessories are present.

2. Partial Refund (Restocking Fee / Value Depreciation)
If the item is returned in a condition that prevents it from being sold as new, OpenELAB reserves the right to deduct a Restocking Fee (for US/Global) or Compensation for Loss of Value (for EU) from the refund amount.
Deductions apply if:

  • Signs of Use: Visible scratches, mounting marks on screw holes, or fingerprints.

  • Damaged Packaging: Original box is torn, written on, or missing.

  • Technical Modification: The device has been soldered, permanently installed, or flashed with unauthorized firmware.

  • Broken Seals: Anti-static bags or security seals have been opened.

Depending on the severity of the usage/damage, the deduction may range from 15% to 50% of the product price. Items damaged beyond repair due to misuse will not be refunded.

C. Shipping Costs

  • Defective / Wrong Item: OpenELAB covers the return shipping cost.

  • Customer Remorse (Changed Mind / Ordered Wrong Item): The customer is responsible for all return shipping costs to our designated return center (located in the US, Germany, or China, depending on your region). Original shipping fees are non-refundable unless required by local law.

3. Return Process (RMA)

To ensure a smooth return process, please follow these steps:

  1. Authorization: Contact us at info@openelab.io before returning any item. Returns without prior authorization will not be accepted.

  2. RMA Number: We will provide you with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and the correct return address.

  3. Packing: Ship the item back in its original packaging with the RMA number clearly marked on the shipping label (not on the product box).

  4. Tracking: We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping method. OpenELAB is not responsible for returns lost in transit.

Description

 

This sensor collects environment temperature and humidity and sends these values via long-range wireless  LoRaWAN v1.0.3 protocol. It can work with the standard LoRaWAN gateway, like Helium hotspots SenseCAP M1, and TTN hotspots.

It also has Datalog capability to ensure sensor data won’t be missed. Every uplink data will be recorded, and you can retrieve these values via the downlink command.

Each LHT52 has unique LoRaWAN OTAA keys. To use LHT52 in a LoRaWAN network, you need to input the OTAA keys in the LoRaWAN network server, only then it can start to transmit data.  The default period for each uplink is 20 minutes.

You can set a threshold value that you need to be notified or take action to. When the temperature or humidity exceeds that pre-configured range, it will send an uplink immediately. The alarm mode can be modified by AT command or downlink. Note: the alarm mode is disabled by default. If you need to enable the Alarm mode, please refer to the user manual.

 

Note

LHT52 is mainly used for indoor environment monitoring. If you need a sensor that meets the industrial standards, you can choose SenseCAP S2101 LoRaWAN Air Temperature and Humidity Sensor, which can work from -40℃ to 80 ℃ and has IP66 rugged case to withstand exposure to an outdoor environment. S2101's built-in 19Ah battery can support up to 10 years of usage while built-in Bluetooth can enable 1 minutes integration to quickly get it started.

    Applications 

    • Exhibition environment Monitoring for pieces and antiques: The relative humidity is at 45% and the temperature is between 65°F and 68°F,  lowering the temperature greatly increases the longevity of collections.
    • Basement/Garage environment monitoring: these two locations are mainly used to store something that may be sensitive to the temperature and humidity
    • Greenhouses environment monitoring: The ideal temperature for a greenhouse is between 80 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit (26.5 – 29.5 degrees Celsius)
    • Schools/offices environment monitoring: To protect health and comfort,  it is important that indoor relative humidity be maintained below 60%, ideally between 30% and 50% and the air temperatures be maintained in a range of 70°F  to 78°F

    3. Warehouses & Fulfillment

    Our products may be stored in our Munich, Arlington, and Shenzhen warehouses. The actual shipping warehouse depends on product availability and destination.

    3.1 Munich Warehouse

    For products stored in our Munich warehouse, we use Deutsche Post or DHL Paket for domestic deliveries within Germany. For selected EU destinations outside Germany, we use FedEx Regional Economy.

    3.2 Arlington Warehouse

    For products stored in our Arlington warehouse, we use USPS or UPS for deliveries within the United States.

    3.3 Shenzhen Warehouse

    For pre-order items or products fulfilled directly from our Shenzhen warehouse, we arrange reliable international shipping based on destination and inventory status. For EU member states, OpenELAB covers applicable import duties and taxes under DDP service where required.

    4. Inventory, Pre-orders & Split Shipments

    • Inventory Status: Please check the product page for real-time stock information. If an item is out of stock in our local warehouses, it may be marked as “Pre-order”.
    • Pre-order Fulfillment: Pre-order items may be shipped directly from Shenzhen or restocked to a local warehouse first before final delivery.
    • Split Shipments: If your order contains both in-stock and pre-order items, we may ship them separately. No additional shipping fee will be charged for split shipments caused by our fulfillment arrangement.

    5. Customs, Taxes & Delivery Issues

    5.1 Customs and Taxes

    For EU Member States:
    Whether shipped from Germany or China, OpenELAB covers applicable import duties and taxes under DDP service where required. Customers in EU member states should not be charged additional import duties or VAT upon delivery.

    Important Notice for Non-EU Countries:
    For destinations outside the European Union, such as Switzerland, Norway, and the United Kingdom, import duties, taxes, and customs fees may be charged by local authorities upon delivery. These fees are the responsibility of the recipient.

    5.2 Damaged, Delayed, or Lost Parcels

    Please inspect your parcel upon delivery where possible. If you notice visible damage, please report it to the courier and contact us as soon as possible. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.

    If your parcel is delayed, lost, returned to sender, or the tracking information has not updated for an unusual period of time, please contact us at info@openelab.io. We will assist you in checking the shipment status with the courier.

    5.3 Incorrect Address or Failed Delivery

    If a parcel cannot be delivered due to an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the customer, refusal of delivery, or failure to collect the parcel, additional shipping or return costs may apply.

    6. VAT

    For orders within the EU, VAT is collected at checkout according to the applicable destination rules. No additional VAT should be collected upon delivery for EU member state orders covered under our DDP shipping arrangement.
