During OpenELAB's collaboration with TNG Technology Consulting (referred to as "TNG"), it was learned that TNG plans to set up a branch in China. On the afternoon of May 21st, the OpenELAB team accompanied TNG's CEO, Dr. Robert Dahlke, to have a meeting with the Shenzhen Futian District Committee and relevant departments.
Company Background
TNG Technology Consulting (TNG) is a software services and information consulting company headquartered in Munich, Germany. Since its establishment in 2001, TNG has been known for its excellent technical expertise and professional team (99% of team members hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, and 55% have a doctorate). TNG provides high-quality software development and consulting services to global clients, focusing on high-end information technology, including software development, artificial intelligence, DevOps, and cloud computing. TNG has subsidiaries or offices in 11 countries or regions and continues to grow steadily at an annual rate of 20%.
Meeting and Discussions
During the meeting, after watching a promotional video about Futian District, the relevant departments introduced the overall situation of Futian District to TNG: As the central district of Shenzhen, Futian leads the city in economic development quality, with the highest GDP per capita for 24 consecutive years. As the administrative, financial, cultural, business, and international exchange center of the city, Futian boasts excellent location conditions, economic vitality, business environment, development opportunities, and ecological environment. The district warmly welcomes outstanding foreign companies like TNG to settle in Futian.
In addition, in August 2023, the State Council issued the "Development Plan for the Shenzhen Park of the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone," marking a national strategy that positions Futian for a new round of golden development opportunities. By using the Hetao area as a breakthrough point and pilot area for Shenzhen-Hong Kong technology innovation cooperation, Futian has introduced a series of innovative measures, such as the Shenzhen-Hong Kong joint policy package, allowing technology innovation projects and talents to enjoy policy support from both Shenzhen and Hong Kong. This creates a highly open international research system environment, providing important guarantees for attracting more foreign enterprises to settle in Futian.
Subsequently, the relevant departments provided detailed interpretations of policies related to foreign enterprises settling in Futian, covering entry and exit affairs, talent introduction policies, tax incentives, monetary policy guidelines, educational resources, cross-border data flow regulations, and foreign business exchange services. These policies provide clear guidance and comprehensive support for foreign enterprises to settle and develop in Futian.
TNG’s Future Plans
Finally, Dr. Robert Dahlke introduced TNG's development history, business scope, core values, and future vision to the attendees. He expressed his sincere gratitude for the warm reception and detailed introduction from the Futian District Committee and government, stating that this exchange has given him more confidence in TNG's plans to settle in China. He particularly emphasized his appreciation for Shenzhen’s strong investment attraction policies and Futian’s excellent development conditions and business environment. He plans to share these insights with his team upon returning to Germany and will organize another team visit to Shenzhen for further study and understanding.
