The Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3 is a newly released high-resolution autofocus camera from Raspberry Pi , built on the Sony IMX708 sensor. It is fully compatible with the Raspberry Pi series boards.
The Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3 NoIR is the night-vision version of the Camera Module 3 series. Unlike the standard version, the NoIR version lacks an infrared filter, allowing it to support night vision when paired with an infrared light source. However, images captured during the day may have a reddish tint.
This series of cameras features a 12-megapixel resolution, offering significant improvements compared to the 8-megapixel Sony IMX219-based Camera Module V2, including:
-
Improved low-light sensitivity
-
Support for High Dynamic Range (HDR) for enhanced photo quality
-
Electric autofocus, providing greater flexibility in focus control
