It was an amazing weekend for OpenELAB as we showcased our products in Switzerland at the Maker Faire Solothurn! Surrounded by thousands of makers, engineers, families, and technology enthusiasts, we were embraced by the energy, curiosity, and excitement that defines the maker community.

Showcasing Innovation for All Ages

Our interactive booth featured an array of exciting products for every type of maker and learner.

For beginners and hobbyists, Keyestudio’s Arduino kits made engineering approachable and fun, with hands-on projects like smart fans, robot arms, robot cars and so on. Families brought their children to explore the possibility of building smart meteorological stations with fire, humidity and even ultraviolet sensors. How nice it is to spend some quality time as a family during the weekends to build something smart together!

Young makers and geek culture fans loved our playful 3D printed toys—bananas, pineapples, Christmas trees, and more—as well as the popular 3D holo illusion fans. It was a delight watching people upload their own photos and see them spinning on the fan in real-time! We even have Minecraft Torch and Sword night lights for our Minecraft game lovers to build their homes into a real 3D Minecraft scene. Our innovative LED badges (sold out quickly!) and LED boards in various sizes were also a highlight, especially when we met people with vocal and hearing disabilities using them to help with communication —a powerful reminder that technology can bring real-world benefits.

For professionals and advanced makers, our best-selling high-quality AIoT and robotics electronic modules from trusted partners like M5Stack, LILYGO, SEEED Studio, and DFRobot drew in engineers eager to explore new hardware possibilities. Many engineers were fascinated by the variety of modules we have on our website and we are proud to ensure the highest quality of product as well as delivery. As our slogan says: Schnell und Zuverlässig (“Fast and Reliable”)—we deliver electronic modules straight from Munich with speed and top service.

Memorable Moments and Heartfelt Stories

What made this event truly special were the people and the stories we experienced:

We met a young maker, just 12 years old, proudly carrying his LILYGO T-DECK Plus. He shared how he and his friends have been exploring and even modifying this technology, inspiring us with his curiosity and hands-on spirit. These are the engineers and inventors of tomorrow, and we’re honored to play a part in their journey.

We were delighted to meet Lily, the founder of LILYGO, whose story of growth and user-focused innovation deeply resonates with our values. Listening, co-creating, and adapting with the community—that’s the spirit we aim to champion.

Families visited us throughout the weekend, their eyes lighting up with excitement. The future engineers' eagerness to learn and explore shows us that it is never too late—or too early—to start making and creating. Hobbyists from different cultures also shared common interests in gadgets and modules, which inspires us to spread knowledge and creativity to every corner of the world.

A Thriving Community & Exciting Future

Over the course of the weekend, nearly 3,000 people attended Maker Faire Solothurn, coming not only from Switzerland but from across Europe. We were inspired by the sheer number of school groups, volunteers, and high school students actively engaged in the maker world, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and contributing fresh ideas. We were also proud to spread creativity, happiness and cuteness by giving away our specially designed shopping bag of MakerHund Hugo!

We are happy to exchange ideas and connected with so many inspiring people—educators, families, professionals, and passionate students. We’re grateful to be part of this vibrant and supportive community!
