A water vapor sensor detects the presence of moisture using humidity. It can be used to determine whether it is raining. When placed outdoors, if raindrops fall on the petal-shaped detection area, the humidity increases, resulting in a higher output voltage. Besides detecting rain, it can also detect fog or water vapor.
