Seeed Studio RPLiDAR A3M1 360 Degree Laser Scanner Kit is a next-generation, cost-effective 2D laser scanning solution developed by SLAMTEC. It delivers up to 16,000 samples per second with high rotational speed, ensuring precise and reliable data collection. Equipped with SLAMTEC’s patented OPTMAG technology, this scanner overcomes the lifespan limitations of traditional LIDAR systems, enabling stable long-term operation for both indoor and outdoor mapping and localization.

The system performs continuous 360-degree scans within a 25-meter range, generating detailed 2D point cloud data that can be applied to environment modeling, robot navigation, and SLAM-based mapping. Compared with other RPLIDAR series, the A3M1 offers more stable performance when detecting objects at long distances, under direct sunlight, or with alternating black and white surfaces, making it ideal for outdoor LoRa-based robotics and consumer applications.

The RPLIDAR A3M1 supports two operating modes: Enhanced Mode and Outdoor Mode. Enhanced Mode maximizes range and sampling rate for optimal indoor mapping performance, while Outdoor Mode provides stronger resistance to daylight interference, ensuring reliable operation in challenging outdoor environments.

The typical scanning frequency is 10Hz (600 rpm), adjustable between 5–20Hz depending on requirements. At 10Hz, the sampling rate reaches 16kHz with an angular resolution of 0.225°, delivering high-precision mapping results. Each unit undergoes strict factory testing to meet IEC-60825 Class 1 eye-safety standards, ensuring safe use around humans and pets.
