The RK3588 is a versatile ARM-based SoC that features a big-little architecture with a quad-core Cortex-A76 and quad-core Cortex-A55 CPU.
Equipped with the G610 MP4 GPU, it delivers smooth performance for complex graphics processing. The embedded 3D GPU makes RK3588 fully compatible with OpenGLES 1.1, 2.0, and 3.2, OpenCL up to 2.2, and Vulkan 1.2.
A specialized 2D hardware engine with MMU maximizes display performance and ensures smooth operation.
Additionally, its 6 TOPS NPU empowers a variety of AI scenarios, offering capabilities for local offline AI computation in complex environments, as well as advanced video stream analysis.
The RK3588 also incorporates powerful embedded hardware engines that support decoding of 8K@60fps H.265 and VP9, 8K@30fps H.264, and 4K@60fps AV1, as well as encoding of 8K@30fps H.264 and H.265. It includes high-quality JPEG encoding/decoding, along with dedicated image pre-processing and post-processing units.
Furthermore, the RK3588 introduces a next-generation hardware-based ISP (Image Signal Processor) capable of handling up to 48MP. It accelerates algorithms such as HDR, 3A, LSC, 3DNR, 2DNR, sharpening, dehazing, fisheye correction, and gamma correction, enabling extensive use in post-processing.
The integrated Rockchip NPU supports INT4/INT8/INT16/FP16 hybrid computing, providing excellent compatibility for converting models based on frameworks like TensorFlow, MXNet, PyTorch, and Caffe.
The RK3588 features a high-performance 4-channel external memory interface (LPDDR4/LPDDR4X/LPDDR5), capable of supporting demanding memory bandwidth requirements.
