The Flexiforce Sensor is a lightweight product manufactured by the renowned TeKscan company.
Its small size, high sensing accuracy, and ultra-thin resistive pressure sensor make it a highly versatile product.
This pressure sensor reliably converts pressure applied to the sensor membrane area into a change in resistance value, enabling precise pressure information to be obtained. The resistance value decreases with increasing pressure.
Its versatility extends to applications such as sensing the end of a mechanical gripper to detect objects, ground sensing under a bionic robot's foot, and mammalian bite force testing in biological experiments.

This is a piezoresistive force sensor.
The harder you press, the lower the sensor's resistance. Pressing lightly, the resistance changes from infinite to ~300k. The sensor itself is thin and flexible, but the resistance does not change while being flexed. Resistance changes only when pressure is applied to the round area at the end of the sensor. Used as a presence sensor (someone standing), weight sensor, pressure sensor (impact testing), etc. The overall length is about 8.5". Sensor comes with0.1" spaced reinforced, breadboard-friendly connector. This sensor comes in three flavors. This sensor ranges from 0 to 1lb of pressure.
