At Seeed, we recognize that disasters impact people and communities in vastly different ways. That’s why a universal solution won’t cut it. Instead, we’ve designed the Hazard Response Mission Pack around flexibility: the basic configuration serves as a starting point, allowing users to customize with additional sensors to meet their unique needs.
Feature
♻️ Sustainable Return Program — The "Drift" Initiative
We believe in purposeful technology. If the Hazard Response Mission Pack proves useful, keep it. If not, we offer an innovative drift program—instead of returning the kit to us, pass it on to another eligible individual or organization. Once we confirm successful receipt by the next user, we’ll initiate your refund.
🔹 Please note: Only the basic configuration is eligible for drifting. Any applicable customs duties are the responsibility of the recipient.
📦 For refunds on additional sensors, please refer to our [standard policy].
🛡️ Support for Disaster Prevention Professionals
Are you actively working in disaster preparedness or emergency response? We’d love to hear from you. Your work matters, and we’re open to donation opportunities to support your mission.

Hardware Overview
Basic Configuration
● Basecamp
The Basecamp serves as the central hub for the system, integrating Wi-Fi Router, R1000 ReComputer with LoRaWAN Gateway , and Meshtastic Router Client . The RS485 Communication Interface expands the system's ability to integrate with additional sensors and devices, which is particularly useful for System Integrators (SI). The Ethernet connection provides a stable, wired network option that ensures uninterrupted data transmission and secure system control. The Wi-Fi IP Network within the Basecamp offers flexible, wireless connectivity, allowing devices to connect without physical cables.
● Meshtastic Nodes
The T1000-E Tracker is a versatile device within the Meshtastic network, providing essential tracking and communication functions in environments where conventional network coverage is unavailable or unreliable.
- Additionally, the pack includes an HDMI 10" screen and a mini keyboard, offering a clear visual interface for monitoring data and system status, enhancing user interaction with the Mission Pack.
Software
1. Node-RED
The Mission Pack is equipped with a powerful software environment, centered around Node-RED , an open-source visual programming tool that simplifies the integration and automation of IoT devices. Node-RED's intuitive drag-and-drop interface allows users to easily create workflows for data processing, alerts, and system control, making it accessible to both technical and non-technical users.
To further streamline the user experience, the software environment is packaged with Docker containers that are ready to deploy, ensuring that all necessary dependencies and configurations are pre-installed. This setup reduces the time and effort required to get the system operational, allowing users to focus on customizing and expanding their hazard response capabilities.
2. SenseCraft AI
SenseCraft AI is a development toolkit and platform designed by Seeed Studio. It simplifies the deployment of AI applications, enabling users to leverage powerful AI models at the edge without extensive coding or complex configurations. SenseCraft AI offers an intuitive user interface that allows users to easily build datasets, train, deploy and fine-tune models. With just a few clicks, users can connect USB or IP cameras and start using pre-loaded AI models.
The platform supports seamless integration of various AI models, allowing users to upgrade their cameras with advanced capabilities like YOLOv8 for object detection without writing any code. Users can also configure multiple video streams and camera inputs, making it suitable for various applications, from security monitoring to industrial automation.
3. Meshtastic ®
Meshtastic® is an open-source project that leverages inexpensive LoRa radios to create a low-power, long-range, off-grid communication platform, especially useful in areas lacking reliable communication infrastructure. Entirely community-driven, Meshtastic supports decentralized, encrypted communication without needing a dedicated router or phone. It boasts an impressive range—holding a record of 254 kilometers—and excellent battery life, making it ideal for outdoor adventures or emergency scenarios. Users can send and receive text messages within the mesh network, and optional GPS-based location features further enhance its utility.
