The RAK12002 is a WisBlock Real‑Time Clock (RTC) module built on the Micro Crystal RV‑3028‑C7. It includes an integrated supercapacitor‑based backup power supply, allowing the module to maintain accurate date and time even during a complete loss of external power. Once the RTC has been configured with the correct date and time, it continues to track time independently.
When system power is restored, the WisBlock Core can retrieve the current date and time directly from the RAK12002, ensuring consistent timekeeping across power cycles.
