A desoldering braid is a woven metal wire that utilizes capillary action to absorb molten solder. It is used to remove excess solder during desoldering, resistant to oxidation and corrosion, with good thermal conductivity and tin absorption, ensuring clean solder removal. It is used for clearing solder joints on circuit boards and is commonly used with a soldering station.
The desoldering braid is made from pure copper and refined with a special chemical formula, ensuring it is fast, efficient, and effective. It absorbs excess solder during desoldering, is resistant to oxidation and corrosion, has excellent thermal conductivity and tin absorption, and provides clean solder removal. During desoldering, once a chip is removed, there is often a large amount of solder left on the circuit board, which can interfere with chip re-soldering. Desoldering braids are typically used to clean up the solder. The method involves placing a soldering iron on the desoldering braid and moving it slowly over the chip pads. Once the solder melts, it is absorbed by the braid, clearing the solder between the pins. This leaves the circuit board clean. Afterward, cleaning fluid is used to clean the chip area on the board.
The desoldering braid can be used for larger surface-mount components. Among desoldering tools, a desoldering pump is suitable for general components like aluminum electrolytic capacitors, while the desoldering braid is better for larger surface-mount components. It requires no cleaning, and after each use, simply cut off the used portion for reuse.
Note: To prevent burns during use, avoid direct contact with the desoldering braid. Hold it by the casing or use tweezers or other tools to handle it.
