The 8*8 dot matrix module is driven by MAX7219, which is an integrated serial input/output display driver. It only needs 3 IO ports to drive 1 dot matrix. The dot matrix display is flicker-free and supports cascading. The 8*8 dot matrix module is driven by Max7219. Max7219 uses three-wire serial communication. When receiving Arduino data, the data is stored in the 8*8-bit static RAM inside the chip. Max7219 is used to control the high and low levels of each pin of the 8*8 dot matrix module to achieve the display purpose.
