Microphone Unit is a sound sensor with a built-in omnidirectional electret microphone. The microphone signal is amplified and output by the MAX4466 microphone preamplifier. This preamplifier effectively suppresses power supply noise and common mode noise, resulting in high-fidelity output signals with excellent sound reproduction even in noisy environments.
This unit can output both analogue and digital level signals. It incorporates an LM393 dual voltage comparator which allows the threshold of the comparison voltage to be set by adjusting a 10K potentiometer. This feature provides flexibility in setting the desired trigger or threshold level for sound detection.
This sensor is particularly suitable for projects involving sound-to-electrical conversion and sound activated switches. Its sensitivity to sound and ability to detect a wide range of frequencies make it versatile for a variety of applications. It can be used in home automation systems, interactive installations, sound monitoring and more.
