DFRobot Gravity: Analog EMG Sensor by OYMotion is a high-quality, non-invasive sensor designed to detect sEMG (surface electromyography) signals, reflecting human muscle and neural activity. This sensor is a perfect solution for projects requiring real-time muscle activity monitoring, such as human-computer interactions, robotic control, and biofeedback systems.

The EMG Muscle Sensor Module is designed with a differential input and a built‑in analog filter circuit, capable of amplifying weak muscle signals (±1.5 mV) by 1000 times while effectively reducing noise interference. With an output signal range of 0 to 3.0 V and a 1.5 V reference voltage, it ensures stable and accurate signal acquisition.

Unlike traditional medical electrodes, this muscle sensor module provides high‑quality signal collection without the need for conductive gel, making it more convenient, durable, and user‑friendly. It is ideal for biomedical projects, robotics control, human‑machine interaction, and Arduino‑based muscle signal monitoring.

Features

  • Metal dry electrodes for long life and easy usage

  • Differential input with high common mode rejection ratio (CMRR)

  • Low power consumption with single 3.3V to 5.5V power supply

  • Provides accurate readings of muscle strength and activity

  • No conductive gel needed, making it more convenient and durable

  • Can be easily integrated with Arduino for muscle activity detection and robotic control

FAQ

The sensor reading is abnormally large or remains unchanged. What should I do?

  1. Verify that the sensor power supply is stable.

  2. Ensure the electrode patch direction is aligned with the muscle direction. The patch should be attached to a large area of exposed skin.

  3. Disconnect and reconnect the sensor electrode connector to check if the reading returns to normal.

Where should I place the dry electrode? Are there any special requirements?

Generally, the three metal dry electrode plates do not require attention to the reference voltage. The key requirement is that they must be aligned with the muscle direction to ensure accurate signal acquisition.
